7.28.09 Recap
Today was pretty interesting. For starters, we all went to breakfast his morning which was nice. Our first stop of the day was to Westminster Abbey, which seem like would be reaally interesting to someone into churches and old sovereigns, but it didn’t quite make me tick. Don’t get me wrong, I loved going there, and it was pretty cool being on a building built in the 900A.D’s. It’s amazing how a building can last that long. And the architecture of not only the Abbey, but Parliament and all other surrounding buildings is crazy. It really is nothing like anything I’ve seen. The sides of walls, ceilings of buildings, and just the buildings themselves can satisfy by just looking at them. After the Abbey, we went to the store Mark got his pair of pants from, called Primark. This place makes Wal-Mart look like a 7-11. The place is just packed daily like it’s Black Friday. People flood in from left to right looking for whatever catches their eye. Even the changing rooms are packed. You have to wait a considerable amount of time before even getting in one. I wanted to try on a pair of jeans I fancied, aha, and I asked an employee where the changing rooms are. He sized me up and asked how old I was. I replied 15, and said I should be able to get into the children’s fitting room. I waited about 10-15 minutes before if was my turn. When it was, the person directing the area almost didn’t let me go in. But since I waited, and only had one thing to try on, he eventually let me. The jeans fit fine, and j actually like them a lot. After leaving the madhouse, we stopped in a Pizza Hut restaurant. It was a buffet style restaurant. It made me laugh a bit, cause people had trouble slicing the pizza, and when they did get their pizza, some ate it with a fork and knife. Maybe my grandma isn’t so crazy after all. :P “keeeeding keeding keeding.” The food was fine and we went back to the hotel afterwards. I crashed for an hour or two, and got woken abruptly. We had plans to go to Mark’s niece’s house for dinner with his brother Johnny. We took a tube down to the Waterloo Train Station, which is humongous. Rushed people jog across the crowded floors to catch the next train. We took one outside of London to where Naomi, Mark’s niece’s house was at. When we got there, it was a very quiet village which was really nice and calm. Peaceful. Naomi’s house is nice and small. 2 story, with a nice feel to it. Our dinner consisted of Peksi and ordered Domino’s pizza. Dinner concluded, took a train hack home, and arrived back at the hotel. On the way back, I started experimenting with a different style of photography. I’m trying out blurred shots. It’s different, and you have to know a couple things before you start trying it, but I like it a lot. I understand now how photographer get shots of the road, and the car brake / headlights are just whizzing by like a laser. I eventually want to get nice looking shots like that, but I need a real camera, and a tripod. That suff’ll come in time. As does everything.
